Cumilla Shikkha Board Govt. Model College is a government educational institution located at Shaktala on the Cumilla–Kotbari Road in Cumilla Sadar South, Bangladesh. The institution was established in 2008 under the management and supervision of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Cumilla, with oversight from the Ministry of Education. It was established on approximately three acres of land to create a modern model institution for school and higher-secondary education. The college began admitting students at the school level from the 2009 academic year and offers education from Class 6 through Class 12. It is identified by EIIN 132092 and college code 0070. The institution offers Science, Business Studies, and Humanities at the HSC level and seeks to provide accessible, disciplined, technology-supported, and quality education in Cumilla.
The establishment of Cumilla Shikkha Board Govt. Model College was connected to the need for a well-managed, modern educational institution under the direct initiative of the Cumilla Education Board. Founded in 2008, the institution was designed as a model school and college where academic instruction, student discipline, co-curricular participation, and residential learning opportunities could develop together. Formal student admission at the school level began in 2009. Admission has been organized for Class 6, Class 9, and Class 11 through written and oral assessment procedures, subject to institutional rules and government policy. Its location at Shaktala near the Cumilla–Kotbari Road made it accessible to students from Cumilla city and surrounding areas. During its early years, the college developed its classrooms, academic procedures, staff structure, laboratories, library services, and student-support environment to meet the expectations of a government model institution.
The institution was nationalized in 2017, strengthening its formal identity as Cumilla Shikkha Board Govt. Model College and reinforcing its public-service mandate. Since then, it has continued to provide secondary and higher-secondary education under the national curriculum and the Cumilla Education Board. The college promotes academic achievement alongside sports, debate, scouting, guiding, Red Crescent activities, cultural programmes, literary activities, and observances of national days. Its facilities include modern classrooms, laboratories, a library, sports spaces, a cafeteria, residential facilities, and dedicated areas for student activities. The college is also developing digital administrative and communication services through online notices, admission information, examination updates, and institutional policy resources. In the future, it can build further on its model-college vision by expanding digital learning, strengthening science and language laboratories, improving student counselling, supporting teacher development, and creating more opportunities for innovation, leadership, and community engagement.
